Titan by JustV23 Titan by JustV23
Sorry for not uploading anything in a while. Lately i have lots of work and other stuff to do...
But here we go: This is Titan's panorama over south pole. I repainted this old work: [link] It was done when i still used mouse for drawing-painting. So i thought it would be interesting to see how it will turn out now....

I really love how this one came out. This panoramic look of Titan is a great inspiration to a novel I happen to be writing. It's pretty close to how I would have imagined it. Very beautifully done. :)

Thank you!
I was always fascinated by the idea of Saturn hanging in Titan's dark blue sky with orange cloud layer below.
Titan itself and it's atmosphere are very dynamic and beautiful world.

And best of luck on your novel! :)

It looks very analogous to my "Saturn from Titan" drawing early in my gallery; I feel like I am descending with Huygens into the weird moon's heavy cold atmosphere.

I really love this. I adore the other one as well, with it's light colors, it's so peaceful. This version is so mysterious and mesmerizing with such darker colors. You are very talented! I will add you to my watch, I can't wait to see what else you come up with. ^^

Hmmm i am not good at teaching :D but for pictures like this just use your imagination.
For example, to do this picture i was inspired by these photos of Titan:

[link]
You see that layers of atmosphere at the top of this huge hazy moon? Just try to imagine how it would look if you would actually be there, between these hazy atmosphere layers. At-least thats what i do then painting my planetary landscapes.
And for the technique, it's only up to you what kind of tools you will use to make illustration. I using basic brushes and basic adjustments...

Imagination isn't the prb. But to get it into the PC like i wish is hard... i get lost in details Zoomed in sometimes about 1 000% to draw folds on lips or shadows an a zipper... also im not a fan of textureing ( use exampels to create a cloth effect or smthng like that) and it's also hard for me to get the right textures, specially windows and wood... The weird thing is, i can draw much better with an pencil, textures shadows and so on are very good, but there is no color... and i like it more in the digital way.
I learned a lot of things already. to create smooth and sharp shadows, light effect and so on... but everything looks like a comic... -.-

Actually detailing is not that important... I think this video tutorials cover some things you searching:

Look at the other videos of this channel. He is professional digital artist and he explain things pretty well.
At-lest for me his videos helps me from time to time :)
It's hard to explain, for me it happened naturally. The more i paint the better i can become. Things like sky and landscapes are easy to paint for me because i always explore these things. I just stare at the sky, clouds or pictures of landscapes and when i paint something similar i just remember how it should look like, because i seen it many times before. But then it comes to architecture and machinery i reach deadline because i didn't pay much attention to these things and then i have to paint or draw some kind of a building i just have 0 ideas because i didn't explore such things...

Mhh...
That's some kind of weird... i got no problem with any object to draw, as long as it does not have any specific reflection-property. Skies, beds, paper, plastic... somehow i stored all those properties in my brain... but now i've to learn how to reconstruct the effects on PC... and thats really difficult, cause i don't know any filter and do not know what the property "hard Light" "multiplicade"... do. I have to try, but there are so many sorts to test out...
I understand only the Brush-properties - deformation, Jitter and so on... but i have no consept what to do on a seperate layer and so on...
Also i need some knowledge of Art itself, which effects are to use, which effects effect which feeling.

I know only basics of painting in PS and i play only with layers and brushes.
Well, layers are very helpful then you need to draw different objects, but you don't want them to physically interact with each other. Then for example you paint cloud on one layer and you want to cover it with another cloud, but you want to move the second around and see if it will fit in that place. So you create second layer (layer>new>layer) and paint second cloud there. You can see both of them but at the same time they are separate. This is how i do haze and atmospheric effects: then clouds or mountains for example are done i paint in a new layer some bluish haze and then bring opacity of that layer down and you can see right trough it. And it gives that atmospheric feeling. Just create few layers and paint different objects on each of them and just try to move them around or change order of layers. And you will see how they work, at-least thats how i learned to use them. And about the effects, i even now can't remember what each of them do so then i need to make some objects lighter or see trough, ect. i just change that layer in which are those objects mode (it is next to the opacity in layers window) till i find fitting one.
And sorry for my bad English... I could explain things in more understandable way if my English skills would be any better :/

do not worry... as you noticed, my english isn't comparable with a native English^^...

Yeah. The layer itself isn't the problem, even more the contend of it. I tried to split them all up into rough - unshadered objects + shader layer. Also to draw everything on one layer, till i'm happy with it, create new layer draw an additional object, as long as it fits with the "background" and reduce on one layer afterwards... till the picture is finished.
But at the moment to get an idea, to make a full picture in my head, to think how i will do it and the way i do it and the finnishing of the picture takes me more than one week. Thats too long, i've to be faster and it's weird, many say, i learned much in the past 9 month (since i'm drawing, and i got no talent or birth-gift of drawing^^...) - but i want to learn faster but i've no teacher and noone who explain me how to do... and I'm attending an eve-school, what means that i get up at 6 AM and school ends for me at 10 PM - three times a week. On weekends is the only time i can ask my idols on :devart: - but as you see, that kind of learning doesn't bring me as far as i wish to get... or to slow.

XD anyway, i learned many things from :iconartgerm: :iconnaschi: :iconoceans-art: :iconrikamello: :iconjustv23: - most of the time ony to watch their drawings and thinking about how they do this... and sometimes anyone do a livestream and i'm ALWAYS! watching it...

Sometimes my works still are done in almost a week. I draw or paint and i just lost my interest in it or i just run out of free time and it's left unfinished. And i finish it only after few days so time is not that important as long as you enjoy your work and as long as your works gets finished.
I didn't have any teachers who could teach me about digital art, so i just kept drawing and after some time i noticed that my drawings little by little progressing. But i still can't draw as fast as other can, but you know i stopped caring about that. It's not a speed contest XD. It is really all about mood, sometimes i can paint picture in an hour and sometimes i painting one picture for a few days. I think i could progress more if i could draw more often. Now i draw-paint only in weekends because my studies consumes almost all week :/

Just don't worry you will get better after some time, just don't rush things to much. As in my country is saying: "Devil carries fast work" :D And i can say by looking at your works that you are going the right way. So just good luck!!! :D
