Haumea by JustV23 Haumea by JustV23
My interpretation of Haumea seen from one of it’s moons. It is known that Haumea has a dark red spot on it’s surface. I liked the theory of it being an impact crater.

Oh and Happy Holidays everyone! :D

It's a gorgeous piece, and I always love seeing dwarf planets get some love, but the irregularity has me a bit confused, given that, despite its ellipsoidal shape, it's in hydrostatic equilibrium. Is that just supposed to be really heavy cratering?

Still, I love this. It's like something from the space books I would read as a kid.

Holy cow, your alien landscapes are so amazing. I love the level of detail you put in each piece! This definitely looks more like an oil painting than a digital painting. I'm just floored.

Most of the time when I see space art it's just a drawing of a circular planet with an atmosphere between it and the planet we're seeing. however, in this case, the digital art reminds me of 60' photorealism and drawings like that. the lack of an atmosphere with a really black space and a few starts really does add to the feeling of the art piece. and then the planet's weird eggplant like shape along with the jaggies and craters is truly the centerpiece of this artwork. However what I like the most about it was the moon and all the rotations on the right side. along with excellent shadows, this is one of my favorite space based pieces peroid. you got a like, favorite and follow sir, a like favorite, and follow

Very surreal, the asteroid almost looks like an elongated eye, and the red/white colouration of it is a nice change from the usual grey asteroid look (which I admit I do every time :shh:) I never considered standing on the landscape of what is essentially just a big rock to be very interesting when compared to an actual full-sized planet, but when I saw that crater on that mountain on the right I realized only on an asteroid would you see something like that - a horizon that would actually appear to slope upwards in some areas.

But yeah, normally asteroid scenes are pretty limiting and tend to come out rather grey and boring in most cases, but this one feels unique yet oddly realistic at the same time 8-)

It looks really amazing! The tilted horizon of the moon makes it feel alien and the red crater is a nice idea. But I think Haumea would be more roundish.

So beautiful landscape, one of your best. There's so many pictures of planets on Deviantart, it may seem that every combination of known elements of space art is already used, but you still succeeded to do something new and fresh.
Clap Woohooooo! CURSE YOU!

Also on the thumbnail Haumea looks like shell of some giant extinct mollusc, that's funny. La la la la
